About the organizers:

PIST NYC is a citywide volunteer group who demand school transportation that is safe, reliable and renewable for students with and without disabilities, including those in temporary housing or in the foster system. PIST NYC advises on day to day school bus route complaints while organizing for a School Bus Bill of Rights referendum.

We believe transportation to school is a civil and human right, and that a decision-making body which includes the most affected communities can do a better job of attracting workers, improving routes, training and communication, and keeping everyone safe.  We support good union contracts, better training, Employee Protection Provisions, and a fair wage structure for those who transport our children.
