What are the environmental and health benefits and harms of the current NYC school bus fleet, and what could be improved?

SCHOOL BUS ISSUES Event Beyond Access Series session, participants will hear from The Office of Pupil Transportation (OPT), sharing some highlights on the upcoming Via release, allowing parents to track their children's bus via GPS.

SCHOOL & School Bus ISSUES Event City Council Education Commitee preliminary hearings on the NYC budget

This is an opportunity to testify that the high OPT budget is not resulting in quality services. 

Maybe it’s time to stop wasting $$ on useless call center & corporate GPS but invest in electric fleet, AND grow the school bus workforce with raised wages & benefits in the upcoming labor contracts. NYC students need fully staffed, safe and reliable buses!

AFC is calling for BUDGET PRIORITY: Guarantee busing for students in foster care and renewing staff in family shelters to help guide people on matters such as school transportation 

Environmentalist friends of ours are calling for funding to replace expiring school buses with electric vehicles and create jobs instead of pollution…
