Vote CCEC

We are sharing a list of candidates who are known to be advocates for special education, and of course for school bus rights. Names are grouped by community school district 1-32 [you can vote for each district where you have a student attending public school] and also the citywide council categories, which you can vote for if your student meets that category.

Below we have pasted the full list since there is not enough room for all the names in our Alternative Text option. PIST does not own the list but we contributed a little. If you have additional suggestions, please write pistnyc@gmail.com and we’ll pass it along. Below that you will find the list in 6 images, and then at the bottom are a bunch of individual and council candidate flyers that we have gathered for busing champions.

En la parte abajo, hay folletos de candidatos individuales y del consejo que hemos reunido para los campeones de autobuses, en inglés, español y mandarín.

底部是我们为巴士冠军收集的个人和理事会候选人传单,有英语、西班牙语和普通话

Sadly, in some councils there are people running who have displayed very negative attitudes toward students — and parents — with disabilities, and toward whoever they claim is taking resources away from the “elite” programs. Please do your homework and vote carefully for people who care about ALL kinds of learners.

Non-public school parents SHOULD be able to vote for the Citywide Council on Special Education, but it is not an obvious process unless you still have a NYCSA/My Student account left over from the child attending public school earlier. For help, please see the resources in the white box at https://www.pistnyc.org/resources/nycsaguides
