10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Gather at Education Section C*  

Madison Square Park in the east side of Manhattan near 23rd St. #6 subway, and crosstown M23 select bus

We will be in Section C on Madison Avenue between 25th and 26th Streets. There will be a large Section C sign, probably closer to the Public Schools’ Special Education and District 75 contingents. PIST will be found between IMPACTability and the corner of 25th Street. There will be an information booth on Madison Avenue across from East 24th street to direct individuals to their correct location if needed. Please see map and its text description below for additional details such as restrooms, water, and Access-A-Ride stops.

     11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Move out to 26th Street and Broadway, down Broadway to 17th Street and into Union Square Park north plaza.

Chants may include: “School Bus Bill of Rights” and “Safety for Children, Justice for Workers”   

     12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Meet other groups & families

We will bring flyers to give out.

2023 NYC Disability Pride Parade Text Description

The following is a written text description of all of the maps for the 2023 NYC Disability Pride Parade. The following information goes over the route, lineup locations and all parade amenities.

Disability Pride Parade Route

The parade will officially start on the corner of East 26th street and 5th Avenue down Broadway to East 16th street. 

 

Disability Pride Parade Lineup Locations at Madison Square Park

The lineup locations for the parade are on the immediate streets north and east of Madison Square Park. There are five sections: A, B, C, D and E.

 

Section A

Section A will be lining up on East 26th street in between 5thavenue and Madison Avenue. When the parade kicks off, they will march toward 5th avenue and make a left onto Broadway.

 

Section B

Section B will be lining up on East 26th street between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue. When section B begins marching, they will walk down East 26th street toward 5thavenue and make a left onto Broadway.

 

Section C : EDUCATION!

Section C will be lining up on Madison Ave. between East 25th street and East 26th street. When section C begins marching, they will march north up Madison Avenue, turn left onto East 26th street and then march west toward 5th Avenue, eventually making a left and marching down Broadway.

 

Section D

Section D will be lining up on Madison Avenue between East 25th street and East 24th street. When section D begins marching, they will march north up Madison Avenue, turn left onto East 26th street and then march west toward 5th Avenue, eventually making a left and marching down Broadway. 

 

Section E

Section E will be lining up on East 25th street, between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue south. When section E begins marching, they will march west on East 25th street, make a right onto Madison Avenue, march up Madison Avenue, turn left onto East 26th street and then march west toward 5th Avenue, eventually making a left and marching down Broadway.

 

Parade Start Restrooms

There are accessible restrooms located on the street on Madison Ave between 25th and 26th streets. Other restrooms are located on East 17th street between Broadway and 5th Avenue.

 

Access a Ride Drop-off Area

There will be an Access a Ride drop-off area on East 24th street in between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue South. Once dropped off you can move west on East 24th street toward Madison Avenue and make a right to the various lineup locations.

 

Restrooms

There are accessible restrooms located on the street on Madison Ave between 25th and 26th streets. Additional accessible restrooms are located on East 17th street between Broadway and 5th Avenue.

 

Water

There will be water available at Madison Ave and East 26th St as well as at 17th street and Broadway.

Access a Ride Pickup Location

The Access a Ride pickup location for the end of the parade is located between East 15th street and East 16th street.
