We are informed via text message from the school at 2:45 PM that our child's bus was in an accident this morning and he did not arrive at school until 10:45 AM This was in response to a text inquiry from us after another parent told us that our child was late to school. We called the school, and after the principal and teachers declined to speak to us, an intern informed us that the accident was not serious, that nobody was injured, the location and time of the accident, and that a note about it had been placed in our child's backpack.

After calling the bus company, we were told that they had informed the parents about the accident, but that they missed us because they called parents of another child with the same name! Apparently, a car was trying to squeeze between a sanitation truck and the bus, and it hit the bus. The police had to be called because children were involved and that is why they were so late to school. The intern from the school said that the bus hit a parked car, contradicting what the bus company told us. Our child did confirm that a sanitation truck was present.
