My 8 yr old child rides the school bus with nine 17 year olds who have extreme behavior problems. I filled a police report against one of the teens today for petty larceny and menacing. This teen took my child's iPod yesterday and was flicking a lighter behind him. OPT did remove my child from this route but the practice of mixing ages on . . . read more »

This morning our child's bus did not show up. I called the bus company several times this morning and I was repeatly put on hold and twice was hung up on. I was on the phone from 7:16 to 7:57 when I finally was able to speak to a dispatcher, the dispatcher placed me on hold and finally at 8:05 am the dispatcher confirmed that the bus would be . . . read more »

Missing School Bus #1

This morning the School Bus never showed up. We first waited on the street for two hours, with my young child carrying a backpack, standing on the sidewalk with a temperature in the mid 30’s. As our Bus driver & Matron decline to provide a mobile number, the only way for me to be informed is through the Company's Dispatcher, who never . . . read more »

My child’s school bus had an accident in our neighborhood on October 27, 2010. I could hear the sirens of the emergency vehicles from our home, and little did I know that my child was there. Nobody called to inform me of the situation despite the fact that they spent three hours on the bus during the ordeal. Fortunately nobody was injured, . . . read more »

More Late Arrivals and Excessive Time

Late arrival- bus arrival times are logged daily at all locations. Children consistently arrive late to school and miss mandated therapies scheduled for first period. Late arrivals have gotten slightly better as the year has progressed but are still a problem. Experience from past years shows that the late arrivals will pick up again when the . . . read more »

Complaints Ignored

I have a student, who because of the amount of children on his bus, gets to school at 9 AM every day. The bus must pick up and drop off students at multiple schools. We are talking about special students who need every minute that they can receive at school, and they are missing an entire period of learning and teaching each and every . . . read more »

Another ridiculously late pick-up

Today we had to take our child to school becuase the bus had not arrived. It did eventually show up at 9:00 AM! 40 minutes after school starts. Apparently a child who is picked up in Staten Island was added to the route. Staten Island is nowhere near us or our child's school, hence the ridiculously late pick-up time. We filed a complaint with . . . read more »

Late again - still complaining

Monday, November 08, 2010 8:24:20 PM Categories: Excessive Time O.P.T.

Today our child arrived home at 4:30 PM. That's 10 minutes earlier than Friday, but still 1 hour and 50 minutes in total. Which is unacceptable. So we filed another complaint with OPT.

Home Route Getting Better

Today our child only took 2 hours to get home from school! That's 10 minutes faster than yesterday. We still filed a complaint with OPT.

Took a Chance

We decided to let our child take the bus today. The driver assured drop off would be at 3:40 PM. The bus did not arrive until 4:50 PM! That's a 2 hour and 10 minute ride home. We missed therapy appointment and will probably have to pay for it. Filed a complaint with OPT.
