40 Minutes Late

Tuesday, May 31, 2011 9:09:00 PM Categories: Late to School
On Tuesday 31 May, our bus from Consolidated was 40 minutes late. Nobody called to inform us, nobody answered the phones as I called for information. The bus arrived as I was on the phone reporting them to the OPT so OPT cancelled the report. I will be late at work today, again, due to Consolidated Bus, while this could have . . . read more »

More Late Arrivals and Excessive Time

Late arrival- bus arrival times are logged daily at all locations. Children consistently arrive late to school and miss mandated therapies scheduled for first period. Late arrivals have gotten slightly better as the year has progressed but are still a problem. Experience from past years shows that the late arrivals will pick up again when the . . . read more »

I have a student, who because of the amount of children on his bus, gets to school at 9 AM every day. The bus must pick up and drop off students at multiple schools. We are talking about special students who need every minute that they can receive at school, and they are missing an entire period of learning and teaching each and every . . . read more »

Another ridiculously late pick-up

Today we had to take our child to school becuase the bus had not arrived. It did eventually show up at 9:00 AM! 40 minutes after school starts. Apparently a child who is picked up in Staten Island was added to the route. Staten Island is nowhere near us or our child's school, hence the ridiculously late pick-up time. We filed a complaint with . . . read more »

Route change madness part two

Two letters came to the house about two routes that we would be on for the week of November 1, 2010. On the morning of 11/1, neither of those, nor the bus we had been on for 3 weeks prior, had our child on their roster. I checked with the company and two of the escorts whose numbers I had. Father had to take child to . . . read more »

Loss of instruction time in the morning

School starts at 8:05. Arrival times on a bus whose route zigs and zags all around the city were ranging from 8:45 to 9:20 the first few weeks of school. This is despite the fact that children were stepping onto this bus as early as 7:00 a.m., that is, spending an average of two hours on their morning commute!* Now (on the fourth . . . read more »

We are informed via text message from the school at 2:45 PM that our child's bus was in an accident this morning and he did not arrive at school until 10:45 AM This was in response to a text inquiry from us after another parent told us that our child was late to school. We called the school, and after the principal and teachers declined to . . . read more »

Normal pick-up time is 7:10 AM, bus arrives at 7:40 AM. Driver informs me that there are "inspections" all over town, some buses are "one hour late". Bus arrives at school at 8:50 AM, half an hour late. I call OPT to inquire about the nature of the inspection in mid-morning. OPT customer service rep David informs me that he is unaware of any . . . read more »

For the first 2 weeks of school in the 2010 school year, my child’s pick up time was 8:40. School starts at 8:20. With an approximate travel time of one hour, my child was routinely 90 minutes late to school.
